The Peugeot 406 was in continuous production from 1995 to 2004, spanning two generations and establishing itself as a mid-range saloon and estate across the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Windscreen glass evolved through this period, with earlier models carrying straightforward laminated windscreens, whilst later 406s from the late 1990s onwards increasingly featured rain sensors and VIN notches stamped into the lower edge. Some higher-trim variants also received acoustic laminated glass as a premium option, helping reduce cabin noise.
Because the 406 predates the ADAS camera era, replacement windscreens do not require post-fit calibration — a simpler process than modern vehicles, with no specialist diagnostic equipment needed.
