Toyota HiLux rear window price, by year

Pricing varies with generation, trim level, and whether the rear glass carries integrated brake-light circuitry or privacy tinting. Later-generation HiLux models with encapsulated trim and brake-light elements require more precise matching, which can affect availability and calibration complexity. Earlier models without these features are typically more straightforward to source and fit.

Amazing service and end result

Amazing service and end result. Used the app on a Sunday, new window fitted by a super nice, attentive chap (Rob) on the Tuesday following. Couldn’t ask for more and at a fair price. I hope I don’t have to use again(!) but if I do, I know who I’m using.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Toyota HiLux rear window replacement

From instant online quote through to fitted replacement, here's how the process works.

  1. 1

Answer a quick set of questions about your HiLux to identify the exact rear-window variant — takes about a minute.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and choose a fitting time that suits your schedule.

  3. 3

Our parts-check team verifies your replacement glass matches the factory specification — including any brake-light pattern or tinting.

  4. 4

A technician from our network arrives at your preferred location (mobile at home or a workshop appointment) with the matched glass and tools.

  5. 5

The shattered rear glass is carefully removed, shard debris is cleared from accessible areas, and the new encapsulated panel is fitted and sealed.

  6. 6

Your fitter confirms the glass is secure and will recommend a professional interior valet afterwards to address any shards that may have lodged in deeper trim areas.

  7. 7

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

The entire process is handled by trusted local technicians on our network, backed by a straightforward two-year warranty.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your HiLux?

Most HiLux rear-window replacements are carried out mobile at your home or workplace, as the HiLux is a work-vehicle and owners often prefer minimal disruption. However, if you prefer a workshop environment for any reason — or if weather conditions make mobile fitting difficult — that option is always available.

Because rear-window jobs involve shard cleanup from the shattered original, some owners appreciate the controlled environment and facilities a workshop offers. Either way, your technician will confirm the best option during booking.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green1
    2005–2015

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen1
    2005–2015

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

About the Toyota HiLux

The Toyota HiLux is one of the world's most durable pick-up trucks, with continuous production spanning decades and serving both commercial and leisure owners across the UK. Rear-window variants reflect this longevity — earlier 2005–2010 models carry straightforward toughened glass, while later generations from around 2010 onwards feature enhanced sealing and encapsulated trim design for improved weatherproofing in demanding work environments.

Some variants include integrated brake-light patterns in the rear glass, which must be matched exactly during replacement so the original lighting circuit reconnects without modification. Specialist fitters on our network are familiar with HiLux rear-window complexity, from pinch-weld condition to factory trim fitment.
