Chevrolet Cruze rear window price, by year

Pricing varies primarily between the two generations in our catalogue — 2009–2015 models without ADAS calibration equipment are typically more affordable than 2016–2020 variants. The presence of solar-control and green-tinted glass across both generations is standard, so trim variation has less impact on rear-window replacement cost compared to some other models.

ATDAS-equipped windscreens (found on later models) command a premium due to camera calibration complexity, but this applies to windscreen jobs, not rear windows — rear-window pricing is driven more by the generation and shard-cleanup scope.

Year Price range Quote
2020 £580 £580 Price my 2020
2019 £580 £580 Price my 2019
2018 £580 £580 Price my 2018
2017 £580 £580 Price my 2017
2016 £580 £580 Price my 2016
2015 £580 £580 Price my 2015
2014 £580 £580 Price my 2014

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Cruzes can still be booked.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Chevrolet Cruze rear window replacement

Booking a rear-window replacement for your Cruze is straightforward and takes just a few minutes online.

  1. 1

Answer a quick quiz about your Cruze's year and trim to confirm the exact variant and its features.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and choose your fitting date and location — mobile at your address or at a workshop near you.

  3. 3

Our parts-check team verifies the glass specification matches your factory original, and you're matched with an approved fitter in your area.

  4. 4

On fitting day, your fitter removes the shattered rear window, clears accessible glass shards, and bonds in the replacement — typically 30–60 minutes of their time.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the drive-away time (adhesive cure varies by conditions) before you leave, and you're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

  6. 6

For a thorough interior clean to remove any glass particles that lodge in places the fitter can't reach, we recommend a professional valet afterwards.

Every replacement is backed by our two-year warranty and the expertise of trusted specialists on our network.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Cruze?

Rear-window replacement for the Cruze is almost always carried out mobile at your address — your fitter brings everything needed to safely remove the shattered glass and bond in the replacement.

If you prefer a workshop visit or have limited driveway access, you can request a workshop fitting at booking. Because the Cruze's rear window does not require ADAS camera calibration (only windscreens involve camera alignment on equipped models), there's no technical reason to choose workshop over mobile — it's purely your preference.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green1
    2009–2020

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen1
    2009–2020

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Solar Control1
    2009–2020

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

About the Chevrolet Cruze

The Chevrolet Cruze has been in continuous production since 2009, evolving through two main generations — the J300 (2009–2015) and the J400 (2016–2020). Both generations feature toughened rear windows, which shatter into small fragments rather than cracking.

From around 2020 onwards, Chevrolet introduced the Chevy Safety Assist suite across its range, incorporating forward-facing camera systems for features like Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking. Earlier Cruze models (2009–2015) do not carry this camera-based ADAS equipment, so their windscreen and rear window replacements are more straightforward.

All Cruze variants in our catalogue benefit from green-tinted and solar-control rear glass, which reduces glare and absorbs infrared heat — helping keep the interior cooler on sunny days.
