Chevrolet Orlando windscreen price, by year

Pricing varies depending on your Orlando's year and whether it carries the Chevy Safety Assist camera system. Earlier models from 2010–2019 without ADAS are generally the most straightforward to replace. From 2020 onwards, camera-equipped variants require static calibration after replacement, which adds specialist technician time and may necessitate a workshop visit.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Chevrolet Orlando windscreen replacement

Booking your Orlando windscreen replacement is straightforward—most jobs complete in a couple of hours from start to finish.

  1. 1

Answer a quick quiz about your Orlando (year and features) to get an instant quote via our online widget.

  2. 2

Proceed to checkout and choose your preferred fitting date and location—mobile at home or at a local workshop.

  3. 3

We match you with an approved fitter in your area and confirm the appointment.

  4. 4

On the day, your fitter inspects the windscreen, removes the old glass, fits your replacement, and clears the surrounding area.

  5. 5

If your Orlando has Chevy Safety Assist, the fitter will complete static camera calibration to ensure safety systems work correctly.

  6. 6

Your fitter confirms the drive-away time before you leave—typically the same as non-ADAS jobs because calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure.

All replacements carry a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Orlando?

Most Orlando windscreen replacements can be fitted at your home or workplace by mobile appointment. However, if your Orlando is fitted with Chevy Safety Assist (typically 2020 onwards), the fitter will need a workshop to carry out the static camera calibration after the glass is set—this ensures your safety systems function correctly and cannot be completed safely on a driveway.

We never split jobs across locations; if calibration is needed, the entire replacement and recalibration is scheduled at one workshop to keep you safe.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Blue Sun Strip2
    2010–2023

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

  • Green2
    2010–2023

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Vin Notch2
    2010–2023

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

  • Rain Sensor1
    2011–2023No calibration after replacement

Your wipers automatically activate when rain falls on the windscreen.

    What it means

A rain sensor is a device mounted on or behind the windscreen that detects moisture and triggers the wiper system automatically. The sensor uses infrared light to measure water droplets on the glass surface and signals the vehicle's electrical system to engage the wipers without driver input. This feature improves safety in sudden downpours and reduces driver workload in variable weather conditions.

    How to tell

Check your windscreen for a small sensor unit, usually mounted near the top centre behind the glass or at the base of the mirror. Look for a small dark component or lens. If your vehicle has automatic wipers that activate without you toggling the stalk, you have a rain sensor. Ask your dealer or service centre to confirm; they can check your vehicle records or wiper module settings.

    Replacement impact

Rain sensors are non-structural elements and do not require recalibration after windscreen replacement. The sensor bracket or mounting may need careful removal and reinstallation to ensure it sits correctly behind the new glass. If the sensor itself is damaged during removal, a replacement unit may be needed. Your fitter will confirm the condition and refit or replace the sensor as part of the standard replacement procedure.

About the Chevrolet Orlando

The Chevrolet Orlando has been in production since 2010 as a practical seven-seater MPV, serving families across the UK. Windscreens across the model range feature a blue sun strip as standard, reducing glare without affecting visibility.

From 2020 onwards, Chevrolet introduced the Chevy Safety Assist suite on many models, which includes forward-facing camera systems mounted to the windscreen. This means Orlando variants from 2020 onwards may require ADAS recalibration after windscreen replacement to keep safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking functioning correctly.

Replacement glass is sourced to match your factory specification—including the blue sun strip, green tint, and VIN notch where fitted—and is UK-approved for the road.
